Seven Star Marine Engineering is looking for a process engineer for the manufacturing side of our team. This job involves coordination of jobs from requests for quote (RFQ) through delivery. You will work to ensure that in-house and external processes run on schedule, are completed to customer specification or expectation based on purchase order or work authorization and meet our quality standards. The job process you will coordinate typically includes; quoting, receiving customer purchase orders, design or design vetting, procurement of materials, CAD/CAM modeling and programming, in-house manufacturing, coordinating with outside vendors to perform manufacturing or finishing processes, quality inspection, packaging and delivery.
As the process engineer you will communicate with our director of operations, fellow staff members, customers, and vendors. Strong communication skills are a must. You will be required to interpret technical data and drawings to understand project requirements and operate CAD and CAM software. You will conduct quality inspection of parts which will require use of precision measuring tools to ensure the implementation of our quality standards and our customer requirements on all machined parts before delivery. This position offers growth especially in the area of design, modeling and programming.

CNC Machinist/ CNC Machine Operator
Seven Star Marine Engineering is seeking a CNC machinist or a CNC machine operator. We are looking for someone who is able to operate our CNC waterjet table and standard hand tools required to complete manufacturing tasks. Demonstrate proficiency with manual milling and turning, 3-axis milling, job set up and fixturing and an ability to understand Hurco conversational language. Mill turn proficiency and 5-axis milling a plus. If you do not have mill turn proficiency this position could offer long term growth into this skill set.

Service Manager for Marine Hydraulics Shop
Seven Star Marine is seeking a service manager for our hydraulic service business. We provide hydraulic service to the marine industry with a focus on the yachting industry. We service hydraulic systems of all kinds including: furlers, bow and stern thrusters, captive winches, deck cranes, passerelles, z-drives, swim platforms, vangs, stabilizers, deck equipment, and sail handling equipment. We have the capacity to reseal cylinders, motors and pumps and charge accumulators. We provide comprehensive troubleshooting, faultfinding, testing, analysis and servicing of hydraulic systems, including stabilizers, winches, deck cranes, and passerelles. We are located just 1 mile from Newport Shipyard with a CNC machine and fabrication shop in house- for immediate fabrication of custom components and hardware.
A service manager will be responsible for managing work flow for service department including customer communication, job intake and inspection, quote generation, service scheduling, and ensuring projects run on schedule. You will work to ensure that in-house and external processes run on schedule, are completed to customer specification or expectation based on purchase order or work authorization and meet our quality standards. You will manage parts and material identification, sourcing and procurement in coordination with the office administrator. The service manager is responsible for assigning projects to the service technicians based on project needs and service technician's skill set.
A background in marine project management, yachting, sailing, and/or marine engineering, is ideal.
